From Firing Lines to Fairways!  

​Discipline, body position, gauging distance, estimating wind speed, reading terrain, angle to target, fundamentals, follow through, proper equipment, outdoor pleasure and comradery!  The only difference is that golf has a roaming beer cart!

Important Notes

• Must register at least 2 weeks prior to ensure you get a tee time.
• Capping at 16 shooters max, to start with.

Concept of League Operations

3 Matches throughout the year. Spring, Summer, and Fall.

• Golf themed precision rifle fun match from 0900-1300ish.
• Immediately following the fun match, a golf scramble at one of the local golf courses. Missaukee Golf Club, Timber Wolf Golf Club, Pineview Highlands Golf Course, etc.)​
  • The match fees cover 9 or 18 holes, with cart rental. You get to pick how much you want to golf.
• Winner of the fun match gets *some* free drinks on the course.
• Non shooting spouses/family welcome to join the golf portion.

What to expect during the fun match at MTC:

• Start the day promptly at 0900 with a 100y zero confirmation using the "9 Hole" paper target for score.
• You will then get squadded in small groups of 3-4 to begin the 9 self paced stages of fire with distances from 100-1000 yards, both supported and unsupported.
• A course of fire will look like:
  • BUCKET GOLF!!!  Using Bucket Golf rules, from the starting point you will tee off toward the bucket.  The number of swings is important!
  • Once your ball touches or lands inside the bucket, you will then shoot the course of fire in the immediate area of that bucket. 
  • Combined your bucket golf score and your shooting score to equal that holes final score. 
• There are no par times per hole/course of fire, but there is a slow play penalty. You will complete as many holes/courses of fire as possible before going cold at 1200-1300ish (depending on tee times available).
• Quick range breakdown afterwards.
• If possible, we will have a light lunch at MTC. If not at the golf course.  (Expect Chili Dogs, Brats, Burgers, Chips, Salad, etc)
• Convoy to the determined golf course for prescheduled tee time, and have fun!

Gear List:

Mandatory gear list for the match:

• Good energy!  Leave all your negative troubles and worries at home. 
• 1 Precision Rifle system (sling, optic, front support, rear support). 
  • You can only use one rifle during the duration of the match. 
  • No big bore rifles (338. 408, 50, etc) due to steel target thickness.
  • There will not be different competition classes or divisions. (male/female or gas gun/bolt gun)
• Ammo: Match grade Ammo (maximum 50 rounds if we get through all 9 holes)
• Pen/Pencil for score keeping.
• Spotting scope / spotting binos.

Mandatory gear list for golfing:

• Golfing attire / no ghillie suits. (collared shirt, pants or shorts with belt loops are required on some courses).
• Extra golf balls, tees, etc.
• Extra $ for beverages and snacks.
• Golf Clubs.  If you do not have any, you may borrow some from your generous squad members or rent them at the course. 

Optional, but recommended gear list for the match:

• Range finder.
• Spotting Scope.
• Tripod.
• Your own golf club. We will have left and right handed Bucket Golf branded clubs, but you may use your own. Bucket Golf Rules: You may only use 1 club, and may not switch out after you begin the course.
