1st Precision Rifle Match of the Year.
MTC Warm Up PR Match
The details
There are four priorities driving this match:
If you are looking at getting into PRS style precision rifle matches, this is the match to start off with in 2021. This club match encourages helping new shooters. On stage feedback is allowed, as well as equipment sharing as shooters see fit. More experienced shooters should not worry, stages will have targets that will challenge them as well.
This 10 stage match is made up of typical PRS style stages, such as prone troop line, tank traps, barrels, barricades, etc. You can expect at least one stage to require support side shooting. Each stage will last 90 seconds and have a round count between 8 and 12. We are using stages common to most matches so new shooters can get their feet wet and experienced shooters can gauge their pre-season skills on stages/props they are likely to see through the match season.
Round count for this match is estimated at 100 rounds, it’s always best to bring extra. When courses of fire are finalized an exact round count will be provided. Target sizes will be between 2 and 3 MOA in size with distances between 300 and 1000 yards.
Squading will occur the morning of the match, shooters can pick their squad as long as there is a balanced number of shooters in each squad. Squad sizes must be balanced to ensure efficient match flow.
Every effort will be made to have designated stage ROs – 5 volunteers needed! If we do not have enough volunteers, we will use the Squad Mom technique to run squads and stages.
The top three overall point winners will be rewarded with handsome trophies. Also, to encourage first time competitors, the high score from first time competitors category will receive a handsome trophy.
We are taking feedback from the 2020 Warm Up match to make the 2021 Warm Up match even better. Expect a challenging CoF but higher hit percentages than the 2020 match. Every stage will have targets that can be hit by beginner shooters as well as smaller targets to ensure experienced shooters are challenged.
Questions can be sent to the MD via email at [email protected]. Updates will be published to MTC Facebook page and mtc_longgunner Instagram.
