Prerequisites: Agency/department screened current Law Enforcement Officer.
The Marksmanship Training Center Basic Sniper Course is designed for officers assigned to SWAT/SRT/ERT, to support tactical law enforcement operations. Our five-day course has 50 hours of instruction and practical application of the following subjects:
Successful completion of this course and certification will require a passing score on graded courses of fire at known and unknown distances as well as the demonstration of proficiency and understanding in required skills during practical exercises.

- Firearms Safety and Handling
- Scope theory
- Camouflage and Tactical Movement
- Final Firing Positions
- Observations and Field Sketches
- Range Estimation
- Ballistics
- Moving Target Engagements
- Intermediate Barriers
- Angular Shooting
- Low Light Shooting

- Scoped rifle capable of 1MOA or better, with sling and bipod (.308 recommended)
- 500 rounds of match grade ammo
- Rear support bag
- Rifle cleaning kit
- Rifle/scope tool kit
- Field uniform
- Data Book
- Camouflage gear and face paint
- Red lens flash light
- Eye and Hearing protection
- Container/bottle for water
- Pack for carrying equipment in the field
